If you are experiencing problems with your heating or air conditioning equipment you are most welcome to call our service department. However, you may be able to remedy the problem yourself by reviewing the following check list

PROBLEM	CHECK
Smell of gas	Natural gas has an additive that smells like rotten eggs. Call the gas co. and leave the building. In the Greater Toronto Area, call the Enbridge Consumers gas 24 hour emergency line at (905)447-4911 or toll free at (888)447-4911.
No Heat (Furnace fan does not run)	Is there electrical power? Check the electrical breaker/fuse Check the furnace wall switch Check the thermostat settings
No Heat (Furnace fan runs)	Is the pilot on? (Standing pilot models only) If not, call for service
No Cooling (outside unit not running)	Is there electrical power? Check the electrical breaker/fuse Check the furnace wall switch Check the thermostat settings
No Cooling (outside unit runs)	Check furnace filter. If filter is clean, you may need Freon If the unit is old, it is usually best to replace rather than waste money on repairs
